NEWS FLASH : November TECHNICAL FORUMS sponsored by POTTERTON MYSON

As promised the Association are to run 2 Two Technical Forums Before Christmas.

The first is on the 14th of November @ the Silver Springs Hotel Cork and The second is on the 16th @ the Red Cow Morans Hotel Dublin.
The Sessions are from 6.30pm to 9.00pm each evening.

The format will be based on the Technical Bulletins issued by SEAI and the technical questions raised on the Association Forum, the sessions will be Chaired with questions and opinions taken from the floor. It is envisaged that the floor will generate definitive answers and a record taken of the questions and answers, this record will be available to the members.

Invitations have also been issued to the New heating and Plumbing Association. ( APHCI )

We believe there is substantial common ground with this sector and is an ideal opportunity for business networking.

There is no fee for the event however Booking is required as spaces are limited.
Coffee / Refreshments will be available at a nominal charge

BER Assessor Insurance Scheme for members

Towards the end of 2009, Committee members decided to open lines of communication with various Insurance Brokers to obtain proposals for Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance to comply with limits shortly to be required by SEI. At this time Insurance Quotes were in the region of €500 to €600. The idea was to reduce Insurance costs for members by using to our advantage the principle of power in numbers. After lengthy negotations we obtained what we see as a very competitive product and price through JLT Insurance Brokers Ireland Ltd with W R Berkley Insurance. The financial savings for members on Insurance will more than outweigh membership costs, keep money in your pocket and serve to strengthen our Association.

This is an exclusive facility to the members of the BER Assessors Association and therefore these rates will not be available to the general public or non-members.

BER Assessor Workshops & AGM Report

AGM 19th Feb 2010

The AGM of the BER Assessor Association has been fixed for the 19th Feb. Booking details are available on the home page. Raymond Hennessy is the event organiser again this year. Although there was strong support for the event to be shifted down the country , the event was such a success in the Red Cow last year we have tried to replicate that in 2010.

The day will start with a number of comercial workshop presentations ( this part of the day will be open to anyone who wishes to attend) The actual AGM will be scheduled in the afternoon, when obviously only members will be allowed attend.

The AGM agenda will include reports from the officers of the association. There will also be reports from members of the steering group on the various ongoing projects.
